Passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022 after an 18 month battle with Alzheimer’s, at the age of 92. Rupert was predeceased by his wife Muriel in 2017. Beloved father of Robert (Sherrie) and Diana (John), and cherished grandfather to Jody, he will be greatly missed. Rupert, the youngest of his family, was predeceased by his five sisters (Joan, Darla, Janet, Peggy and Gerry) and three brothers (Harry, Kit, and Bob). Born and raised on a farm near Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Rupert met his wife, then a nurse at the Lloydminster hospital, and began a journey across Alberta and into Africa while working in “the oil patch”. His travels with his wife and children took them to Edmonton, Valleyview, Grande Prairie, Libya, Nigeria, England, Egypt, Red Deer, Iran, Sherwood Park, Trinidad, Elk Point, Lloydminster and finally Edmonton. Rupert loved Mozart, had a wonderful sense of humour, and was a man of honour and integrity.
A ceremony to remember Rupert will be held in the spring of 2023. Family and friends will be welcome.
