It is with heavy hearts our family announce the passing of Shannon “Sam” Hawkey at 61 years young. Shannon passed at home December 30, 2025, succumbing to complications of ALS disease.
Shannon lived her life with passion and independence. A creative soul expressed through her sewing, knitting, crochet, gardening and delicious meals; to name a few. She was a favourite hairdresser in her hometown of Airdrie, AB. Later, moving north to Parkland County where she met best-friend and partner Allan Bordeleau, and managed a loving, warm home.
Shannon is remembered by Allan Bordeleau; two daughters – Dionna Gooding and Matthea Wood; Father- Cliff Hawkey, Mother- Donna Hawkey (predeceased); Siblings- Dean and Terri Hawkey, Lyle Hawkey; and extended family of nieces and nephews. Shannon is loved by her family, and friends across Alberta and beyond, and will be sadly missed.
