Ted was one of the kindest , compassionate and stand up man we have ever met . First to lend a hand and offer an ear . Our days of sharing an office will forever be in my memories . Rest easy our friend and give Marion a big hug from us ,

Tracey, Gord, Dustin, Brooke, and family

We are so sorry for your loss. We have many special memories of Uncle Ted. In 1984-86 I (James) lived with Uncle Ted, Auntie Marion and Tracey while attending college at NAIT. I always felt loved and cared for like a son in their home and think of Tracey as the sister I never had. 

In those earlier years living in their home and the years that followed I saw Uncle Ted as a consistent presence of love and stability and as a strong provider and protector of his family. He was very capable in everything he put his mind and hands to. 

Uncle Ted was always interested in what I was learning and was quick to give me the "on-the-ground" interpretation of some of my class theory on well production and recompletion operations. Through the years he often encouraged me in my career and in our growing young family. Last year I was able to join in his 80th birthday celebration which was a wonderful time together with him and his beautiful family,

We will really miss Uncle Ted and believe that he trusted Jesus as his Saviour, and we will see him again in heaven.

Jesus said, come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.

Ted was a favourite big brother 12 years older and wiser, he was a hard worker and I have great memories of my brother Jack and I going up to Inga Lake with him when he was operating wells.   
Ted always had a nice new car and being so generous he would let me take my girlfriend  Wendy out for a drive, we were so lucky. 
I remember him giving me $100.00 and telling me to save it for a rainy day.  
Ted loved farming and he drove steel wheel tractors and I remember him singing as he drove the combine.  
Ted was a great fast ball pitcher and helped his team to many victories.  
Just last summer we had a great family gathering with Ted and Tracey when they came back to Fort St. John for a visit.  He always loved the farm and was proud to see it carrying on through the generations.  We still farm a piece of land we call Teddy’s because it used to be his.   He was a great big brother and our whole family was glad that we had one last great visit with Ted and Tracey.  Sorry we are unable to make it to Ted’s funeral but we will have you all in our thoughts and prayers.  Hugs to Tracey, Gord, Dustin and Brooke we know you will miss him deeply.

Gord, Tracey, Dustin and family:

             Ted and Marion were friends to me.  

            Ted and Marion loved and supported their daughter and son-in-law.   Ted was the best grandpa to Dustin and his friends.

           Marion drove her Silverado pickup for errands or to lunch even when Ted was along.  Speed limits were only guidelines.  
They took tender care of her parents when they were elderly.

          Ted and Marion kept me up to date on their family and also  wanted to know how my family was doing. 
  
            Ted and Marion treated me the best whenever I was there:  many lunches in Stony, Spruce and Edmonton:  Jack's Drive Inn and KC's became some of my favorite eateries.  A few visits to The Red Brick Common (Stony Plain multicultural centre) and an occasional stop at the Stony Post Office or Co-op.   Once, we had lunch beside a pumpjack.   When I was in Stony Plain at other times, I looked for the murals in Stony Plain (which they introduced me to) or stopped by Hasse Lake if I had extra time.

            When they read in the newspaper about a youngster losing a pedal bicycle, they went out and bought a bike for them.  Their generosity to many was given quietly.

            Ted told wonderful stories about his time in the oilpatch, the near misses.  He taught me much about how a gentle man conducts business.  He could be tough with the politicians that were taking the wrong course, although I never was along for that.

             I'm so sorry for your loss.
