1949 - 2022
On July, 15, 2022 the family announces the peaceful passing of Velma at the age of 72 years. She was born on September 19, 1949 to her parents Fred and Betty Johnson.
Velma will be forever loved and missed by her husband of 29 years Wilfred, daughters: Sandra (Ray) and Yvonne and her step-children; Dean (Julie), Cindy (Tom), Shirley (Craig) and Sharon (Al). Left to also carry on Velma’s memory are her brothers Danny (Lynn) and Scott (Katie), sister Lori, 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Velma was predeceased by her parents Fred and Betty Johnson, brother Norman and her son Lyle.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Velma’s memory on Friday, July 29, 2022 - 1pm at Parkland Funeral Services, 4502-44 Ave Stony Plain, AB T7Z 1L1 with a reception to follow at the Elks Hall, 400 Diamond Ave Spruce Grove, AB T7X 4C8.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Velma’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada 11227 Jasper Ave #202, Edmonton, AB T5K 0L5.
