Charlie was born on September 15, 1931 in Haverstraw, NY to Charles and Mary Schuler. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. After being discharged from the military, Charlie worked at West Point Military Academy for 30 years before retiring. He then continued to work for Rockland County for another ten years before retiring again. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association. Charlie and Joan enjoyed visiting Lancaster, PA for over 20 years. He was known by many for his infectious smile and the love and dedication he displayed towards the Marine Corps. Charlie was well known for being frugal for himself, but was always generous towards the ones he loved and cared for.
Charlie has joined his father, Charles, and mother, Mary in heaven. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 66 years, Joan V. Schuler nee Goda, and his three children, Charles L. Schuler III, Deborah Curran, and his loving daughter Lynne Rice of York, PA, and her children Christopher Rice, Renee Rice, Heather Rice and Kevin Rice Jr. He is also survived by his brother and sisters, William Schuler, Mary Frontino, and Carol Bronico.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, September 30th, from 2pm to 4:30pm with a service following at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 73 N Liberty Drive, Stony Point, NY. Burial to follow on Monday, October 7th, 2019 at Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery, in New Hempstead, NY.
