

Born on November 5, 1941 in the Bronx, he was the son of John Law and Catherine (Carew) Law and the brother of Jeremiah, John, Charles, and Ronald. He graduated from Samuel Gompers Industrial High School in 1959 and soon after proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Cadmus AR-14 from 1959 to 1962. Following his military service, Edward began his career in the NYPD before transferring to the FDNY where he served with honor and dedication until his retirement. In 1965, he married the love of his life, Nora Curtin, and together they built a beautiful life raising their three daughters, Kathleen, and twins Nancy (husband James) and Rosemary. He was a proud grandfather to Christina, Melanie, Jamie, and Steven, each of whom brought him great joy.
Edward was the cornerstone of his family, known for his love, humor, and unwavering presence. His devotion to family and community will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nora, his daughters Kathleen, Nancy (James) and Rosemary, his four beloved grandchildren, and his brother, Ronald.
Viewing will take place at Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point on Sunday, September 14th from 4pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point on Monday, September 15th at 11am with burial to follow at St Peter’s Cemetery in Haverstraw.
Edward’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the March of Dimes.
