Elizabeth Mary Blauvelt

Elizabeth “Liz” Mary Blauvelt (Feeney), 75, of Fort Montgomery, New York, passed away on September 24, 2026.

Born in Suffern, New York, and raised in Grassy Point, Liz was the daughter of the late John Feeney and Veronica (Moser) Feeney.

Proud of her Irish heritage, she loved Irish traditions and cherished the importance of family, heritage, and togetherness.

Liz was the devoted wife of Ronald Blauvelt and the loving mother of Mary Armstrong and her husband, Kevin Armstrong, and Donna Blauvelt and her husband, Arron Rodriguez. She was the proud grandmother of Jonathan and Adam, and she loved her family’s grand fur kids as well.

As a mother and grandmother, Liz was patient, steadfast, and deeply devoted. She was always supportive and always there when her family needed her. Her children and grandchildren knew they could count on her, and she had a way of making them feel safe, loved, and cared for. And, of course, she gave the best hugs.

Liz had a wonderful sense of humor and a playful spirit. One of the traditions her family will treasure most was the Christmas riddles and treasure hunts she created each year. What began with her daughters continued as their families grew. She made riddles and treasure hunts for her sons-in-law and eventually for her grandchildren, turning Christmas into an adventure and creating memories that will be passed down for generations.

She was funny, caring, generous, adventurous, and, as her family would lovingly admit, stubborn. She enjoyed ice skating and baking, but her greatest joy was spending time with the people she loved. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and grand fur kids were at the center of her world.

Liz also dedicated 43 years of her life to Nyack Hospital as a Medical Technologist, building a long and meaningful career helping others.

Those who knew Liz will remember her for her warmth, her humor, her generous heart, her Irish spirit, and her unwavering love for her family. They will remember the traditions she created, the adventures she planned, the laughter she shared, and the hugs that always made everything feel a little better.

Her family will remember her not only for the things she did, but for the way she made them feel: loved, protected, supported, and deeply cherished. Her love and the memories she created will continue through the generations.

Liz leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories through her beloved husband, Ronald; her daughters, Mary and Donna; her sons-in-law, Kevin and Arron; her grandchildren, Jonathan and Adam; her brother, Jack Feeney; and all of the family and friends whose lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed, but her love will remain a part of her family forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in Liz’s memory.
