James Quinn of Tomkins Cove, NY, 77 years old, passed away peacefully on October 15th. Jim was a long-time resident of Tomkins Cove. Born on February 14, 1940 to Margaret and “Red” Quinn. He graduated from Franklin Roosevelt High School and was married to Dolores Nichols. Jim followed his father’s footsteps and served as a New York State Trooper from 1961 to 1994. Over those 33 years highlights of his distinguished career included motorcycle, scuba-diving and academy counselor assignments. He is survived by his wife Dolores Nichols and step-sons Jay and Sam Matthews and Tim Nichols, as well seven grandchildren. He’ll be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends on Sunday October 22nd from 2-4pm & 6-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point, NY. Service at Higgins Funeral Home and burial at Repose Cemetery begins at Monday, 10am.
