Mildred Brooks

Mildred Dorothy( Scott )Brooks, age 105, of Stony Point, NY passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Joe Raso Hospice residence, New City, NY. Born in Monsey, NY on April 14, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Scott and Matilda Lake( Mackey) Scott. Her husband, Edwin Brooks whom she married on April 16, 1933 in Suffern, NY, died January 14, 1973.

Millie was a former employee of Avon Products in Suffern and also kept the records and accounts for the Brooks Family farm. She was a member of the Stony Point Senior Citizens for many years. She enjoyed traveling and time with her children, family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Joan (Wilde) Brooks of Stony Point and Bart and Jane (Bidwell) Brooks of Waymart, PA; four grandsons, Glenn Brooks of Stony Point, Kevin and Bernadette (Plaisted) Brooks of Monroe, NC, Scott Brooks of Rochester, NY and Brian Brooks of Haskell, NJ; one great granddaughter, Dakota Brooks of Monroe, NC; a sister, Ruth Dunn of Suffern, NY and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Norman, Frederick and Kenneth Scott and four sisters, Arlene O’Dell, Velma Geiger, Shirley LaGarde, and Gloria Bush.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to The Stony Point Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Visiting M J Higgins Funeral Home Stony Point, NY will be on Wednesday July 6, 2016 from 7pm to 9pm also Thursday morning from 9:30am-11am. A funeral will be Thursday July 7, 2016 @ 11am Service at M. J. Higgins Funeral Home Stony Point, NY.
