

Patrick “Pat/Daddy/Poppy” J. Larkin, Jr. died peacefully after a short stay at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, New York on January 1st at the age of 86. Pat was born on July 16th, 1929 in New York City to Sarah (Murphy) and Patrick J. Larkin, Sr. He graduated from Haverstraw High School in 1948. He married Janet Hekl, his high school sweetheart, in 1953. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Pat is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet (Hekl); children, Patricia Larkin of Garnerville, NY, Thomas Larkin of Tomkins Cove, NY, Ann Marie Miller (Glen, pre-deceased) of Stony Point, NY, Kathleen Miller (Charles) of Garnerville, NY, Maureen (John) Schwarz of Merritt Island, FL;. Grandchildren, Melissa (Dan) Harm, Amy (Jason) Toborg, Joseph (Gloria) Naclerio, Sarah Miller, Erin (Eric) Hardwick, Lindsay Miller, Jessica Miller, Jack and Kyle Schwarz; Great Grandchildren, Britney, Jason and Aidan Toborg, Kylie, Keira and Kelsey Harm, Thomas, Anthony and Sara Naclerio; He is preceded in death by parents, Patrick and Sarah Larkin and sister, Agnes McMenamin; He is also survived by in-laws William and Frances (Hekl) McDonnell in Morrisville, VT, his sister Agnes’ children, Thomas (Giselle) McMenamin, Mary Agnes (Jeff) Wexler and Michael (Nina) McMenamin. In addition to his loving family, Pat will be missed by his many friends and customers that he tirelessly served over the past 75 years at, what he liked to refer to as his “wee little business”, the Tomkins Cove Garage. A business started by his father, and worked 7 days a week by him until just weeks prior to his death. He will also be missed by his friends and neighbors on Cape Cod, his second home and the site of many lovely family memories. He was an active and dedicated member and usher of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point. He was a 3rd degree knight and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 581, in Haverstraw, NY. Visiting will take place at Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral will take place at Immaculate Conception church at 10am on Wednesday, the burial will follow at Fred Loescher Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pat’s life.
