Peter George Warner

Peter Warner, a long time resident of Tomkins Cove, NY, 83 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 4, 2026. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Denise, his three children, Casey, Briana, and Shane and their spouses Spencer Mann, Mark Muncey, and Cara Warner and his Brother Tom Warner. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Peter, Charlie, Maeve, Maggie, Joey, Ollie, Arlo and Vinny. He was predeceased in death by his parents Peter and Margaret Warner. He cherished his time spent with family, especially with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Pete was born in Oyster Bay, NY to Peter and Margaret Warner on August 10, 1943. He went on to graduate from Oyster Bay High School in 1961 and graduated from SUNY Cortland in 1967. Pete married Denise on August 17, 1985. Pete was a cherished educator and coach in the North Rockland Community where he taught Physical Education for 31 years at Haverstraw Middle School and coached 43 seasons for the North Rockland HS football team having a lasting impact on thousands of young children.

A viewing will be held Friday September 11th from 3:00-7:00 PM at Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point, NY followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 12th at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, NY.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the North Rockland Sports Hall of Fame to support scholarships for our senior student-athletes continuing their careers in college.
