

Philomena Huber Devine (nee Bishop), 80 years old, of Stony Point, NY, passed as a result of dementia in Gouldsboro, PA surrounded by her daughters and her beloved puppies, Mushie, “the blonde bombshell” and Stuart Little, on June 2, 2023.
Mena is survived by her siblings, Henry and Patricia, her children, Andy (Angela), Jimmy (Shamika), Patricia (Jim), Karen, and Henry (Jennifer). She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren, Danny (Rachel), Samantha (Tyler), Sean, Shannon, Shane, Shyara, Sarah, Maxx, Alexx, and her newest joy, her great-grandson, Eli Daniel.
Mena was predeceased by her brother, James Joseph, her son, Daniel Patrick, her husband of 33 years, Andrew Huber, and her second husband of 7 years, Donald Devine.
Mena was born in Brooklyn, NY to Irish immigrants James and Sarah Bishop on November 5, 1942. She married her soul mate, Andy Huber on August 26, 1961 and they were inseparable until the Lord called him home on March 26, 1995. Mena was blessed to fall in love again and marry Don Devine on October 4, 1997 and they spent their days cruising the islands with friends, and enjoying time with their grandkids.
Mena worked for the New York State DMV for 30 years and then retired as a district manager to become the confidential secretary to Stony Point Town Supervisor Philip Marino for 4 years.
She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish for over 50 years and was a Eucharistic Minister for almost 40 years. Her faith was strong and served her well throughout her life. She was a cancer survivor who had her lung removed in 1990 and never used an oxygen tank; at the time of her passing she was Rockland County’s longest living pneumonectomy patient.
Mena will be remembered for her bright smile, generosity, willingness to help, and fierce determination.

A mass of Christian burial at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, NY: Saturday, June 10th at 10:00 am with internment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Haverstraw
