Rosa Gonzalez

October 30, 2023. She was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico. She moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1952 and in 1966 she relocated to Haverstraw, New York. She was employed as a seamstress at Louis Hornick for over 25 years. After retirement she worked at the Haverstraw Head start as a foster grandparent. She also spent several years helping care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the New Jerusalem church in Haverstraw NY and attended faithfully until her health declined.

Rosa is survived by her son Israel Ortiz, daughter-in laws Maria, and Linda, Grandchildren Randy Ortiz (Sandra), John Ortiz, Denise Ortiz, Jeniene Velez (Radames), Elias Ortiz and Lucas Ortiz. Great Grandchildren Stephani, Randy, Melonie, Jenize, Jose, Jocelyn, Isabella, Nathaniel, Yara and Theo and one Great Great Grandchild Huey. She was predeceased by her son Juan Ortiz and Grandson Dillon Ortiz who both died earlier this year.

Visitation Services will be held on November 3, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Funeral services at 7:00 PM at Higgins funeral home, 73 N. Liberty Dr, Stony point, NY 10980. Burial and Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday November 4, 2023, at Mount Repose Cemetery, Junction of Route 9w and Route 202, Haverstraw New York.
