

Thelma Marie Farina 82 of Stony Point passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, May 3, 2012. She was the loving wife and best friend of Frank Farina for 64 years. She was born and raised in East Rutherford, NJ. Daughter of the late Rudolph and Evelyn (Mateo) Carlevaro. She met her husband at a friend's house and fell head over heels in love with him from the start. They spent many happy years in love, surrounded in Stony Point by friends and family. Together with her husband Frank, her father Rudolph Carlevaro and her brothers Gilbert and Edward Carlevaro, they started Dairy Queen in 1954. They cherished their time at Dairy Queen with their friends, family and community. Along with her commitment to Dairy Queen, she was devoted to her family and home. Her love of cooking was legendary and her food was filled with the finest ingredients and deepest of love. She is survived by her husband Frank, and her brother Edward Carlevaro of Stony Point. In addition, she is survived by her children Paul and his wife Noreen (Flora) of Garnerville, Douglas and his wife Barbara (Sheedy) of Stony Point; her grandchildren, Michele (Farina) and Jeremiah Hull, Christie and Roxie Farina, Evie, Sophia, and Bruce Carlevaro Jr. along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Family will receive friends on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, 10am, at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, NY followed by cremation at Ferncliff Crematory, Hartsdale, NY.
