He leaves his wife of 52 years Arlene Chappell. His devoted children Walter Jr. and Melissa. Daughter in law Cara and three cherished grandchildren Andrew,Kasey and Emily. Walter was born in NYC. He served his country in the Vietnam war. He retired from the New York City Transit Authority after 30 plus years. He was an avid Yankee fan. He is predeceased by his parents Tom and Millie Chappell and brother Tom.
