Antoinette Marie (Poulin) Taylor 90, of Greenacres Florida passed away peacefully with family by her side the evening of May 12th, 2016.
She was born June 5th 1925 in New Britain Connecticut to Leo Paul Poulin and Floreda (née Demanche) Poulin, whom also had a son, her younger brother Leo. Her early life was not easy as she and her brother were separated from her parents through divorce at a young age but her heart was never bitter.
During WWII she worked in a hat factory where she was given the nickname "Ginger" for her red hair. After the war she accepted a summer job at "Wentworth by the Sea" resort, located in coastal New Hampshire. It was here where she met the young man who would become her husband and share her life for the next 67 years, Easton Ainsworth Taylor Jr.
Theirs was a whirlwind romance which saw them married within three months of meeting. They married on October 03, 1947 and spent their honeymoon traveling to New York City and moving on to work at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida during the winter of 1947. They returned to Amesbury, Mass and welcomed their first of six children in March of 1949.
They had two sons, Mark and Jeffrey and after ten years welcomed their next 4 children, Tim, Dan, Andy and Carolyn. She was the quintessential homemaker who celebrated every occasion and made it special, she welcomed all who came to her home, she loved her husband, family and friends with all her heart and was forever loyal to them.
Ginger was not only a loving mother and wife but a very industrious and creative business woman. She was a pioneer for women who work from home. In the 1960's and 1970's while raising a family she applied her skills in catering, baking and sewing into a lucrative seamstress as well as wedding cake and bridal business which allowed her to remain at home for the family and earn extra income. She loved the creative outlet it provided her mind and she was well known and highly regarded throughout town for her many sumptuous and beautiful cakes and designs. She was a remarkable woman of great strength and character.
After thirty-two years or marriage and living in the same town, she and Easton moved to Lake Park Florida in 1979 with their two youngest children to begin what would be a second life in the tropical sunshine state. Here she grew orange, grapefruit and lemon trees and began a knitting and embroidery business from home, she was always in motion and always learning.
In 1986 Ginger and Easton retired to the community of Indianwood Country Club in Indiantown Florida and began another chapter in their life. They continued to travel, spend time with friends and family and lived and enjoyed their life to the fullest. She became a very active choir member at Holy Cross Catholic Church and she enjoyed the extended times she was able to spend with her beloved granddaughters Britney and Taylor.
Ginger always had a smile for those around her even through her battle with Alzheimer's during the past few years of her life.
May our family take comfort and peace knowing that our beloved mother is with her beloved Easton. "I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life! -- and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death." Elizabeth Barret Browning
