Barbara Irene King

Barbara was born in Brooklyn NY to Howard and Josephine Petrie. 

She married her love Alfred in 1958. She and Alfred spent summers vacationing at Lake Lauderdale in Cambridge NY, for 60 years. In her later years made it her summer home while being a snowbird in Jupiter Florida for many years until her move to Hobe Sound in July of 2021.

She was the loving mother of Michael King, Diane King Cotter (David), Christopher King and the late Terrence King (3/2/2020); cherished grandmother of Daniel King, Renee Amato (Nick), Rebecca Cotter, Kelly Barcenas (Jonathan), Samantha King; great grandmother of Jack Amato, Julia Amato and Benjamin Barcenas; and, sister of the late Howard J. Petrie Jr.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Alfred.

Services will be held this fall and burial to be at Commack Cemetery Commack, New York.

Church services will be held on October 27, 2026, at Christ the King Church Commack at 11:00 am and Commack Cemetery, followed by a luncheon to celebrate Barbara's life
