Born in Olean, New York, Mrs. Smith had previously lived in Olean, New York, before moving to Stuart, Florida, fifty-one years ago.
She was a homemaker and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Stuart. Mrs. Smith volunteered for the Red Cross for thirty five years, and also volunteered at the Hospital Thrift Shop for twenty years. She was a Redeemer Lutheran School Campbell Soup Label volunteer for fifteen years, as well as at the Stuart Heritage Feed Store.
Mrs. Smith is lovingly survived by her son, John A. Smith of Stuart, Florida; son, Robert Smith of Camden, Alabama; daughter, Rosie Marie Gaindini of Monroe, North Carolina; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert G. Smith, one brother and two sisters.
