Bill was born in Galesburg, IL, graduated from Colorado College, a Phi Delta Theta. He went on to become a sales manager and General Plant Manager for International Paper in Fon du Lac, WI. Bill subsequently joined Jefferson Smurfit in Milwaukee, WI as General Plant Manager. After retiring, he founded a Bulk Box LLC, selling corrugated boxes made by several companies.
Bill played golf, enjoyed Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badger football, and traveled widely with friends and family. He was a fun-loving optimistic, persistent, and resilient, a loving husband and role model as father.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, children Dean and Steven, grandchildren, Jackie Nick, Natalie, Seven and Tamer Orei, an exchange student from Turkey.
The family will hold a private funeral on August 28 and ask that any donations go toward the Richard Kurth Endowed Fund for Pediatric Palliative Care Education at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for his son who was lost to leukemia.
