
Born in Bridgeport, CT, Dart lived in West Haven, CT and had been a winter resident of Port St. Lucie, FL for the past 18 months.
He was a elementary school principal for over 40 years, and was more recently the principal for Maplewood Annex in Bridgeport, CT for 6 years before retiring. Dart was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was the recipient of the St. Augustine Medal. He also served in local hospitals and nursing homes as a chaplain.
Dart was a member of Assumption Church in Fairfield, CT, where he was a Parish Council Trustee, Eucharistic Minister, Lector and served the weekly novenas. He was also a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Port St. Lucie, FL. Dart also served in the Army National Guard for six years.
Dart is survived by his wife of 4 years, Gloria Hudak-O’Hara of West Haven, CT; son, Charles D. O’Hara, Jr. of Shelton, CT; daughter, Angela O’Hara-Hart of Fairfield, CT; step-son, Ronald Krystofik, Jr. of Colechester, CT; step-daughter, Charlene McCulley of Palm City, FL, and 11 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his 1st wife, Mary Jane Costa O’Hara and brother, George S. O’Hara, Jr.
Services will be held in CT next week, and a local memorial service will be held at a later date.
