Mr. Irving first arrived in Stuart from Rhode Island in 1976 aboard his sport fishing boat ‘Fleaflicker’ and set up a charter sport fishing business which he ran out of Port Salerno. He invested in residential and commercial real estate, including a farm which cultivated canary island date palms of which he was very fond. He and his wife and son, Christopher, were very active in auto racing and successfully campaigned a small fleet of BMW’s in the SCCA and BMW club.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Jeanne, his daughter Jennifer and son Christopher of Stuart, FL, his brothers Pierre and Washington of Newport, RI, eight nieces and nephews, and one great niece.
A memorial service will be held on March 12th at 2:00pm at his farm, 6849 SE Burnett Ave, Stuart, FL.
