Clyde graduated from Miami Military Academy in 1963. He served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967 in South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Taiwan. Clyde received his Associate Degree at Indian River Community College. His chosen profession was Building Contractor. Clyde was retired from the Martin County School District.
He was a member of Covenant Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon as long as his health allowed. He was a member, along with his wife, of Reverence Motorcycle Association.
Clyde and his brother, Bill, were raised by his uncle and aunt in Miami, Florida, following the death of his mother in 1955 and father in 1956. In 1969, Clyde married Gail Shanks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ellen Gail Shanks Cohron; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nichole and Rob Demski and Christina and Adam Gilliam; grandchildren Madison Gilliam, Sydnee Gilliam and Chase Demski; sister and brother-in-law Sandy and Ed Dennis; brother-in law and sisters-in-law Charles and Denise Shanks and Amy Shanks Thomas and many nieces and nephews.
Clyde was predeceased by his parents, Clyde Roosevelt Cohron and Vivian Elizabeth Hinkley Cohron, Guardian Uncle and Aunt, Colonel William H. Cohron and Pauline Sands Cohron; brother’s William Cohron, Ronald Cohron, and Donald Cohron.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be made to the Team Gleason ALS charity. Contributions may be done through https://teamgleason.org. 82% of the funds given are for program services which provide assistance to families to improve the lives of individuals living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Lou Gehrig’s disease.
