Dennis was the third of seven children born October 18, 1956 in Manhattan, New York to Robert George Smith, PhD and dearly departed MaryAnne Elizabeth (Jenney) Smith.
Dennis is survived by his wife Yvonne (Ureta) Smith of 21 years and his forever beloved daughter Elizabeth Ann Smith. Dennis is also survived by his siblings Robert (Gail) Smith, John (Melinda) Smith, Maria Smith, Peter Smith, Thomas (Michele) Smith and Matthew (Kate) Smith. He is also survived by his Uncles William (Joanne) Smith, Richard (Ellen) Smith, John Jenney and Aunts: Peggy (Jenney) Krasan, Patricia Jenney and Debra Smith and his beloved Nieces: Christina Coster, Jenney Smith, Taylor Smith and Stella Smith and Nephew: Andrew Smith.
Dennis was a member of the New York City United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local Union 608 where he received his Apprenticeship and Journeyman Certifications. Dennis also earned a degree from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor Relations.
Dennis worked in New York City from the 1980s to mid-1990s with his Union where he also served as Shop Steward. From 1997 until the onset of his illness in 2015, he was a Retail Executive with Macys.
He was also a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of New York.
Funeral Mass will be held March 13, 2021 at 11 o’clock a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410.
Memorial Mass will be held March 20, 2021 at 10 o’clock a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 110-06 Queens Blvd., Forest Hills NY 11375.
Interment immediately following at Cemetery of the Sacred Heart, 3494 Depot Ln, Cutchogue, NY 11935.
