Born and raised in New Jersey, Dolores built a life centered around family, compassion, and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She was married to her husband, Gary Fulton, for 53 years.
Dolores began her professional career in banking before taking time away to raise her daughter. Later in life, she returned to school, earning her Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies. Her caring and compassionate nature was reflected in her work as a paralegal with the Department of Children and Families, where she dedicated herself to helping others.
Family was always an important part of Dolores's life. She never turned down an opportunity for a family gathering, especially during the holidays. She loved giving gifts and finding ways to make others feel special, often putting the needs of those around her before her own. Her generosity extended well beyond her immediate family, and she took great joy in finding just the right gift for the people she loved. One of Dolores's greatest sources of pride was her daughter, Jessica, whose accomplishments she celebrated with unwavering love and enthusiasm.
The ocean was another constant in Dolores's life. From her childhood days spent along the Jersey Shore to countless afternoons relaxing on the shores of South Florida with her mother, the beach was always one of her happiest places.
Of all the roles Dolores cherished, being a grandmother was among her greatest joys. Her grandson, Michael, was her world. Their special bond began with baking adventures when he was barely tall enough to stand on a stool in the kitchen, often leaving behind more of a mess than anything else. Whether it was brownies on an ordinary day or pumpkin pie during the holidays, she was always happy to make whatever he requested. As Michael grew older, she became not only his biggest supporter but also his trusted confidante and keeper of secrets. Their relationship was one of the greatest treasures of her life.
Dolores will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, generosity, and sense of humor. She had a playful, sarcastic side, especially when teasing her siblings, and enjoyed sharing laughter with those closest to her. She leaves behind memories of family gatherings, laughter, sandy afternoons, and a kitchen where there was always room for one more batch of brownies.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gary Fulton; her daughter, Jessica Fulton, and son-in-law, Michael Platt; her beloved grandson, Michael Tabor; and her siblings, William O'Dea, Deborah Goodwin, and Richard O'Dea. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marion O'Dea.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Dolores's memory may make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that held a special place in her heart.
