He was born in Kissimmee, Florida and lived in Port St. Lucie and Stuart for the past twenty years coming from Meridan, Connecticut.
He was Chief of Security for Mariner Sands Country Club in Stuart for 17 years. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife Laurie F. Bennett; sons Adam Bennett of Port St. Lucie, FL, Eddie Bennett of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Andrew Bennett of Texas; brothers Ken and Earl Bennett; sisters, April, Rosie and Sonia ; and six grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son Lee Bennett.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 5-7 PM at the Langford Park Log Cabin, 2369 NE Dixie Highway, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.
