Our sister, Eline, went into the loving arms of our heavenly father on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. She was a beautiful soul. She was strong, caring, compassionate, giving, independent and tough. Eline loved God and her family dearly. She wasn’t blessed with children, but her nieces and nephews were her life, who she always referred to as her babies. Her outside passions were always hard work, lots of volunteering for local shelters feeding the poor and homeless, salsa music and, best of all, cooking. Eline also loved to write poetry, do arts and crafts, and collected figurines which featured turtles, elephants, and Egyptian art.
Eline battled severe depression for many years, especially after we lost Papi. She never judged anyone, and she cared not to be judged. She spoke to whoever would listen, but she mostly listened to whoever had to speak with the same afflictions. Eline’s life was cut short due to illness associated with her depression. She was loved by all who knew her. She touched many hearts as many hearts touched hers. Eline was predeceased by our father, Carlos “Papi” Cruz. Eline was known for her many little sayings some of which are, “Are you serious?”, “Are you for real?”, “May God bless and keep us all”… and to her babies “ Titi loves you always”.
