Emily Pate-Hilton

Emily Pate-Hilton, aged 86, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, in Stuart, Florida. Born September 14h, 1939, in Greenwood, Alabama, Emily lived a wonderful life filled with love, dedication, and joy that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Emily was a devoted wife to her loving husband Roger who served in the U.S. Navy. Emily was also loving mother to her four children: sons Robert, Kenneth, and Daniel, and her beloved late daughter Lisa who left us too soon in 2016. She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother whose warmth and kindness enriched the lives of her family. Her legacy as a loyal friend extended far beyond her family circle, as she formed deep connections with countless individuals throughout her life.

As her children got older Emily started working for the City of Boca Raton. She worked at downtown Tennis Center for nearly two decades. Emily managed the Tennis Center, where she became an integral part of the community. Her leadership and camaraderie left an indelible mark on hundreds of tennis players (locals and winter residents) who came to know her as both a mentor and a friend. Her passion for fostering relationships and creating a welcoming environment will be remembered fondly by all who crossed paths with her.

Emily’s vibrant spirit shone through in every aspect of her life. She loved to travel, especially to North Carolina and sit by the lake. Emily enjoyed traveling to Europe as Roger's job took him to different European countries. Emily loved all her many dogs and leaves behind sweet Ruby #2. Emily found joy in music, often "tickling the ivory" on the piano, savoring red wine with loved ones, and dancing with abandon under the stars. These cherished moments reflect the zest for life that defined her character.

Emily is survived by her husband Roger of Stuart, sons Robert (Ellen) of Boca Raton, Kenneth (Tracy) of Jensen Beach, Daniel (Jane) of Ramrod Key, her grandchildren Aaron, Corey, Anna, Abbey, Andrew, Kady, Shiloh and Houston, numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Emily will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by music, wine, and the light of all her loved ones previously departed and now reunited in heaven.
