Erica was born in West Islip Long Island, New York on January 31, 1964 to Audrey and Martin Gensler. After graduating high school in New York, Erica became a travel agent due to her love of travel. Whilst traveling, she found her future husband on a cruise in Bermuda. For the next eighteen years, she spent living as a navy wife in the United Kingdom. Throughout her life in Florida, she worked as a CNA in multiple retirement communities, relentlessly looking out for the wellbeing of people who needed her help. She loved nature and the outdoors which led her to be an avid volunteer at Jonathon Dickinson State Park. In her spare time, she loved to go clamming, fishing, and spending it anywhere near the water. She will be remembered for her deep devotion and care for people, as well as animals and her CHICKENS.
Erica is survived by her son, Sam and his father, Malcolm; her mother, Audrey; and her brothers, Harry and Michael. Preceding her death was her father, Martin; her sister Lisa, and her brother Chip.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Aycock Young & Prill Chapel in Stuart, FL.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Jonathan Dickinson State Park, 16450 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound FL 33455.
