I'm a a fellow UD grad and friend of Gary's from college days who just came across Gary's notice in our alumni publication.  I'm feeling shocked at this moment but also full of fond memories of what a great guy he was.  I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.  I got to know Gary through a circle of mutual friends at Delaware.  We spent many hours listening to our favorite Dead and Dylan tunes and many laughs and fun gatherings along the way.  I remember Gary as a generous, friendly soul with an extremely sharp mind and sense of humor.  My sympathies to his family.

Gary lived literally around the corner when we were growing up.  Although we drifted apart after we graduated high school, my memories of him are of a kind, fun, and loyal friend and person. My mom remembers him exactly the same way and asked me to add her heartfelt condolences to my own, which I sadly offer to all of his family.

Gary tirelessly served the West Raleigh Baseball Association of which I am a recipient of his willingness to help on numerous occasions lastly of which was less than a month ago.
