
A native Floridian, Bobby was born in Ft. Pierce, FL. He came to Port Salerno at age 9 to fish with his grandfather.
Bobby worked as a boat builder for 21 years for Whitaker Boats before returning to his roots as a commercial fisherman in Stuart. Bobby proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a founding member and Past President of the Organized Fisherman of Florida.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Winifred; daughter Elaine Moore of Stuart, FL; son Robert Thompson of Port Salerno, FL; granddaughters Gina Banks and Traci Shanks; great grandchildren Robert Martin, Alicia Martin, Katelyn Gentry, and Erik Rosenstrom; and his sister Lillian Walton. He was preceded in death by his brother James Thompson and daughter in law Carolyn Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Sandsprit Park, 3443 SE St. Lucie Boulevard, Stuart, FL 34997.
