Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on December 9, 1933, our Mother married the love of her life, Olindo (Bill) DeLuca on September 18, 1954. They relocated to Florida in 1959, where our father formed DeLuca Tile and Marble Company of Palm Beach County.
Our beautiful mother was a homemaker, a most wonderful cook, and the best mother, grandmother and great grandmother anyone could hope to call their own. She excelled in every sport in which she chose to participate, including golf, bowling, tennis, and an avid swimmer. Her love for animals was well known. As well as nurturing our own beloved pets, she had rescued and rehabilitated many wild creatures. Our home was a menagerie of selflessness. Her extraordinary good nature and sense of humor won her numerous friends throughout her long happy life, and she cherished each one as a priceless gift. She will be missed by so many, whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by our father in July of 2016; her son, our dear brother Steven Robert DeLuca in October 2015, as well as sisters, Mary Merrow, Isabele Cote, Agnes Hereth, and Dorothy Leonard.
Left to mourn her passing is daughter Laura (Ronald A) Edwards, son, Kenneth (Joan C) DeLuca, daughter in law, Barbara DeLuca, brother Charles (Elaine) Altonian; 9 grandchildren: Jennifer (Shane) Sharkey, Ian Fidler, Matthew (Sabrina) Fidler, Henry Fidler, Nicole (Dustin) Morris, Anthony (Kim) DeLuca, Kenneth DeLuca, William (Craig) DeLuca, and Mary (Mike) DeLuca, as well as five great grandchildren; Zachary Fidler, Declan Morris, Ellie Morris, Wyatt Morris, and Bailee DeLuca. Included also are several loving nieces and nephews.
