Ingrid Larsen passed away peacefully at the Treasure Coast Hospice House on September 30, 2026. Born in Munich, Germany on December 15, 1938 to Nikolaus and Magdalena Küber, Ingi shared childhood adventures with her brothers and sister as her family endured scarce and difficult times.
In 1963, she married the love of her life, Louis Fenrich Larsen, with whom she shared the next 53 years before his passing in 2016. After a brief stint living in Germany, Ingi and Lou made their homes in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania and South Florida.
Ingrid was an incredibly charismatic and joyful presence. She brightened a room the instant she entered it. She had an infectious laugh and could always find a silver lining to any challenge. When talking with Ingrid, she had a way of putting you at ease and made you feel that you were the most important person to her. She brought warmth, grace, and wisdom to every conversation.
Ingrid had an unparalleled eye for creative design, filling her homes with beauty, always with a certain whimsical style that was uniquely her own. She approached new projects with fierce gusto, from stained glass, to hand-painted furniture, to tile mosaics and textile arts, Ingrid was always “ALL IN.” With an entrepreneurial spirit, she ran a gift shop for nearly a decade that was the toast of Hobe Sound.
Ingrid was an avid tennis player for many years. She delighted in playing games and remained a formidable Scrabble opponent.
Ingrid and Lou were loving and generous parents to their four children and nine grandchildren, who miss them both dearly. They leave behind a legacy of strength, resilience, humor, and compassion.
To know Ingrid was to love her.
