Irene Marie Steele

Born in Stafford Springs, CT, Mrs. Steele had previously lived in the South Florida area, before relocating to Jensen Beach with her husband, Cleveland in 1983. They eventually settled in Stuart.

Mrs. Steele was a homemaker and part-time waitress for many years. She also had a large collection of salt and pepper shakers which she started in the 40’s. She loved gardenias and was a member of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary, Post 10066, in Jensen Beach.

She was of Catholic faith.

Mrs. Steele is survived by her daughter, Susan Steele of Stuart, FL; daughter, Linda Demming (Jeff) of Knoxville, TN; son, Robert Steele (Jean) of Lincoln, ME; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Cleveland H. Steele and daughter, Gloria Puignau.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8 from 10:00-11:00 AM with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM at Aycock Funeral Home in Stuart, FL. Interment will follow at All Saints Episcopal Cemetery in Jensen Beach, FL.
