

Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jim lived and worked in various places in the south before returning and living in his family home. He shortly relocated to Stuart, Florida in 2007. He finished high school in Baton Rouge, receiving the highly coveted recognition of Eagle Scout, an honor and legacy which his son and grandson have achieved. He graduated from Louisiana State University with his B.S. in Engineering, and he has enjoyed fall Saturdays with the LSU Tigers. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the time of the Korean War.
Jim was an active member of Stuart Congregational Church in Stuart, Florida.
He loved to boat on the St. Lucie River and the Manatee Pocket on his beloved “Ensign”. Jim enjoyed many “journeys” around the world on his flight simulator.
He is loved and will be missed by many including his surviving wife of five plus years, Konstance of Stuart, FL.; daughter Linda (Ken) Koelling of Stuart, Florida; Jeff (Susie) Nordyke of Austin, Texas; son, Steve (Jennifer) Nordyke of Fort Lauderdale; step-daughter Susan (Jon) Schmitt of Parkton, Maryland; step-daughter Amy Wolfinger of Bermuda; step-son Gregory Wolfinger of San Diego, California and eight precious grandchildren.
Jim was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Stuart Congregational Church, 3110 SE Aster Lane, Stuart, Florida 34994.
