Janet Ray Wallace

Born in New Jersey in 1941. Janet lived a life marked by grace, resilience, and compassion. Her passion for books, music, sports, especially basketball and even a little hot rodding marked an incredible life.  It was her love of books that prompted her out of retirement and back to work at the local libraries where she shared this passion with the community.

She is survived by her sons Jeffrey (Mary) Goddard  and Adam (Jennifer) Goddard. Grandchildren Robert Newton, Lee (Brittany) Goddard, Mallory Goddard. Great grandchildren Elaynna, Tessa and Trenton Goddard.  Brothers  Steven (Iris) and Michael Selesnick, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her husband Irwin E Wallace and her parents Morris and Florence Selesnick.

In honor of Janet, Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of life that will be held on Friday September 12, 2025 at Two Georges Restaurant, 4290 SE Salerno Road, Stuart, Florida from 5-7pm.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Broward Public Library Foundation (bplfoundation.org) in Janet’s name as this was a cause close to her heart.

Janet’s presence in our lives was a true gift. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
