Jean M. Duke, 84, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2018 at her home in Stuart, FL. Jean, daughter of Eugene and Frances O’Leary was born and raised in Weymouth, Massachusetts where she met and married her husband, Robert J. Duke. As a naval officer’s wife, Jean lived in many states, from coast to coast, but resided for many years in Newport, RI until they moved and settled in Stuart FL. Over the years, Jean worked in various positions in the defense and hospitality industries. She was a Eucharistic Minister and truly devoted to the Catholic Church. Jean had a gifted green thumb and passionately followed the Boston Red Sox, but for the most part Jean was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and loyal friend. She will be truly missed by all.
Jean is survived by her son, Robert J. Duke, Jr. (Marsha) of Stuart, FL; daughter, Linda J. Arcouette (Robert) of Newport, RI; son, Thomas E. Duke (Mikki) of Jacksonville, FL; son, John W. Duke of Stuart, FL; daughter, Lisa A. Duke of Jensen Beach, FL; grandchildren, Roger Brown, Robin Blancarte, Bowen Duke, Jordan Duke, Brett Arcouette, Devin Duke, Matthew Duke, Benjamin Duke Camp; John (Jack) Duke; great grandson Zander Blancarte; sister in law, Anna O’Leary of East Weymouth; sister in law, Barbara O’Leary of East Weymouth; brother in law, Ronald Duke of Hanover, MA; and sister in law, Dorothy Andrews of Weymouth, MA. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Robert J. Duke.
A memorial funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Lucy’s Catholic Faith Community in Middletown, RI. Burial will immediately follow at Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI.
