OBITUARY

Jesus Vasquez

May 25, 1941January 6, 2021

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Jesus Vasquez, loving husband and father of 5 children, passed away at age 79.

Jesus was born on May 25, 1941 in Zucatecas, Mexico to Jose and Marcelina Vazquez. He worked as a painter for 25 years with David Lowe’s boat yard, along with working at Publix and on his rentals he owned. In 1965 he married his love, Lidia Salas in Santiago, Mexico. They raised 3 sons, Jesus, Pedro, and Chico, and two daughters, Laura and Claudia in Stuart, FL.

Jesus loved his family deeply and supported them by being present in their lives. You could always catch him in the stands of all his grandchildren’s sporting events. From T-ball, to high school sports, college baseball games, to major league games, he was always there no matter how far he had to travel. His first professional baseball game was a playoff game in Houston with his granddaughter. He always said, “Yes, I will come!”. But most of all, Jesus loved when his whole family was together in one place. He loved to watch the grandkids and great grandkids interact and play. It always brought a smile to his face. He would tell stories to them of how wild their parents were when they were younger. He loved to make them laugh. Jesus lived life to the fullest and would frequently travel back to Mexico to visit his siblings, enjoy his favorite Mexican foods, and listen to his favorite Mariachi music.

Jesus was preceded in death by is father, Jose, his mother, Marcelina, his sisters, Maria, Marta, and Aurora, and his brothers, Felix, Edward and Benjamin. He is survived by his wife Lidia, his 5 children, Jesus, Pedro, Laura, Chico, and Claudia, his brothers Pifas and Genio, sisters, Adela and Gloria, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
