

Joe was born on January 17th, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in Norwalk, CT with this parents (Andrew Amendola and Lillian Simka) and 3 siblings (Victoria, Andrew and David). He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1958. He had a love for cars, especially antiques and went into the automotive field after high school.
Joe met Marsha Farnham in 1970 and married shortly thereafter. They were married for 53 years. Joe and Marsha have four children – Joe Amendola (Carole Amendola), Victoria Calvino (Paul Calvino), Glenda Charles (Jeffrey Charles), and Carl Fryer. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Joshua Lafayette, Jeffrey Charles II., Lindsey Calvino, Ashley Calvino, Andrew Amendola, and Ella Amendola.
Joe was the owner of the Springdale Shell gas station in Stamford, CT from 1966-1997. He was well known for his professionalism and great customer service. He was also a volunteer for the Springdale Fire Department for many years. Joe sponsored many little league baseball and soccer teams through the years including his son’s. He hosted many car washes throughout his time at Shell and was an active and well-known member of the community in Stamford. Joe was also a lifelong member of the Norwalk Boat Club and the Sebastian Coffee Club.
Joe was an avid gardener, great cook and NY Mets fan! He dedicated his life to his family and was a great friend to all who knew him. He will be remembered by his strong sense of family, his great sense of humor and ability to make others laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
