

She was born on August 23, 1940, at the Freehold, NY home of her parents, Curtis R. Lacy, MD and Margaret Hogan Lacy. Doctor Lacy joined the Army during WWII and the family lived at bases in Texas and Washington State before moving back to Catskill after the war.
Kathy attended St. Patrick’s Academy, St. Joseph's College, and Katherine Gibbs Boston. As a teenager she was a lifeguard and swimming instructor. She was employed as an Executive Secretary in Syracuse, NY, San Francisco, CA and again in Syracuse.
In 1966 she met George Lee Turrell of Auburn, NY and they married later that year in Catskill, moving to Saddlebrook, NJ where their daughter Nancy was born, later moving to Auburn, NY Catskill, NY and Troy, NY where their son Steven was born.
Kathy was active supporting the activities of the children and working at Fredettes and The Troy County Club. The empty nesters retired in 2002 and moved to Hobe Sound, FL. Kathy, always an avid reader, volunteered at the Hobe Sound Library and the Martin County Book Store at the Flea Market.
Kathy is predeceased by her parents, sister Mary Ellen Cornelius and brother Alan Frances Lacy, PhD.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Nancy Turrell and her husband Ted Astolfi, son Steven Turrell and wife Tara, three grandsons, Gavin, Luke and Samuel, brother Curtis R. Lacy III and wife Virginia, brother-in-law Leo P. Cornelius, sister-in-law Patricia Murray and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled in the future. Donations may be made to Martin Arts in Katherine’s memory.
So with great sadness at her passing and gratitude for the life she shared with all of us, we say
