On Friday, February 19th the world lost an amazing woman with a kind soul. Kim Karleen Koho Vaday, of Palm City, passed away at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart after a 3 year, heroic hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in North Hollywood, CA on October 18, 1957, to Annmarie and C. Herbert Koho. Although she lived in many interesting places her heart always brought her back to Martin County. Kim leaves behind many people to mourn her loss and cherish the time they spent with her; including her devoted husband, Greg Vaday, her daughters Kourtney Hatten and Tiffany Bates-Kintner and her husband Andrew. Also left to mourn her passing and share wonderful stories are her mother Annmarie Koho-Huggins, brothers Brian Koho and his husband Don Schlosser of TN, Kyle Koho of Stuart and their families.
A 1975 graduate of Martin County High School, she worked at Martin County BCC for 13 years, the last 8 as a Commission Aide and always found the time and energy to help the Community. She also owned a pet food store in Ft. Pierce that helped many people properly care for their pets. Every year she helped with the Children's Home Society's Teen Holiday Program and various animal rescues. Although a lefthanded blonde, Kim had a quick mind, sharp wit, loved to laugh and dance, but only sang when alone. She had many wonderful friends and family who understood her humor, appreciated her impeccable sense of style and color, her need to clean and keep things organized, her need to help everyone and her amazing work ethic. Pandora will miss her visits too.
Services are private but please take a moment of your time to share a story about her exploits. We are asking that no flowers are sent, but once these trying times are behind us, maybe you would like to make a donation to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, an animal shelter of your choice or maybe just pass along an act of kindness to another person in her name.
