

Lillian G. Rogers, 86, was called home to the Lord on March 16, 2011. Born in McColl, South Carolina, Lillian attended Brenau College and graduated from Mercer University in Macon, GA. While attending USO dances in 1946, she met and later married her husband of 47 years, Edward C. Rogers.
The couple lived in Monroe, North Carolina before moving to Coral Gables, FL in 1950. They lived there for the next 31 years, raising their two children, JoAnn Elizabeth and E. Charles Rogers. In 1981, Lillian and her husband moved to Stuart, FL and called the area home for more than 30 years.
Loved by so many, Lillian is survived by her daughter JoAnn and her husband Jay Osborne of Jupiter, her son E. Charles Rogers and his wife Maria of Miami, five grandchildren and their families, Jenifyr Bedard of Jupiter, Michelle and her husband, Hershal Pleasant of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lauren and her husband Travis Turner of Naples, FL, Christopher Rogers of Naples, FL, and Chelsea Rogers of Miami, FL. She was also "Nana" to four great-grandchildren, Noelle, Lillian, Edward and Annabelle.
Lillian was extremely active in the Methodist church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, church Circle leader, and undertaking many activities at Coral Gables United Methodist Church. Upon moving to Stuart, Lillian joined the Stuart First United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She also was very active in the PEO serving as its president for many years. She cheered on her beloved New York Yankess and loved to play bridge. Lillian leaves a host of friends to treasure her memory and was a true example of compassion, love and vitality to all she touched.
Memorial services will be held at the Stuart First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m.
