Lloyd Johnson, age 71, of Port Salerno, Florida, passed away on June 5, 2026, after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family, and he will be greatly missed by them and many people in the community from all walks of life.
Lloyd was born on June 20, 1954 in Stuart, Florida, the son of Oscar Edgar Johnson and Judith Conner Williams. He was the oldest of six children and lived in Port Salerno his whole life.
He graduated from Martin County High School and then completed the electrical engineering program at North Technical Education Center in Palm Beach. He worked part-time jobs even before he could drive and was anxious to begin full-time work.
He married the love of his life, Judy Osborn, also from Port Salerno, on June 30, 1973, and they were married for 53 years. They faithfully served the Lord together through the local Salerno Southern Methodist Church from the time they were teenagers, serving in many capacities. He was also involved in several organizations connected to the electrical contracting field. He worked in the electrical field since the early 1970s and in 1996 established his company Lloyd Johnson Electric, Inc. and grew it into a very successful business, getting to know an array of employees, contractors and customers, then retiring after 30 years in October of 2025.
He grew up in the commercial fishing community and loved to fish in the river, the ocean, Lake Okeechobee or any available canal or pond. He also loved to hunt deer and hog and to go frog gigging on the airboat and enjoyed many fishing, hunting, gigging and air boating excursions with family members and friends. His grandchildren got him involved in shooting sporting clays and that, and reloading his own shells, became his favorite hobbies in his later years. He enjoyed his truck, boat and any tool he could use. He loved being in the woods away from the noise and confusion of the busy world. He also enjoyed wood-working projects that he made from trees taken down on his property in North Florida. His cabin in the woods was his sanctuary.
