

Artist/Writer/Cartoonist, “Peggy, as she is known to her friends was a retired commercial artist who painted in all media.
Born in Madison, Wisconsin she, and husband Fred, moved to Florida in 1973.
She was the Art Director for the News Tribune Newspaper in Fort Pierce, Florida, then was the Manager of the prize winning weekly Mirror Newspapers (named best in the State of Florida in 1980) for many years
Peggy loved the beauty of the world around her and enjoyed recording it for others in charcoal, watercolor, pastel and acrylic.
In 1994 she became an accredited art instructor of Indian River Community College. She was the corresponding secretary for the Art Associates of Martin County, Inc., and was the editor of the ARTISAN, the monthly newsletter. She was also president and treasurer of the National League of American Pen Women. She was editor of the COMMUNIQUE, the NLAPW state newsletter and served on the Exhibit Committee of the Martin County Arts Council.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Mary Eskuche and her husband Mark of Stuart,, FL; sons, Frederick Peter Meissner of Davie, Florida; William Meissner and his wife Debbie of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and her grandson, Aaron Mark Steffensen of Stuart, Florida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a visitation to follow from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Aycock Funeral Home.
