My heartfelt condolences to Nancy and the family.

When I first walked thru the doors of Lake Forest Hospital over forty years ago, it was a small community hospital with just over 80 doctors on the staff, I met Os, my first "Doctor/Friend".

It is not too often that one can say that just knowing someone made you a better person for it. It was just that way with Os. I often thought of him as the older brother that I never had. A great surgeon, always with a smile on his face and a joke or story to tell.

Over the years we operated together many times. I fondly remember the great golf games we had with Bill Ganshirt and Hugh Falls.

If there is a Heaven and I know there is; I am sure Os is up there giving putting lessons to St. Peter and cracking jokes.

Aloha Nui Loa, Os

It is with sadness, wonder and gratitude that I write this on behalf of my family and me at this difficult time following Os’s passing.

Thirty one years ago, upon my completion of my residency, Os was generous and gracious in allowing me to share office space with him and continued to mentor me for years during my early career.

My family and I owe a huge debt of gratitude to him, Nancy, Paul, and all of the Steinwald family for their friendship and support through the years.

Os’s demeanor with patients, boundless loyalty to colleagues and friends, skill in the operating room, and love of his family each serve as testaments to how great a man he is.

We are all better individuals for having known him. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with Os and his family.

With love and respect,
Anthony, Maryanne, Weston and Rylan Terrasse

We have had the privilege and honor to know Nancy and Os for many years.

Os always had a story or a joke. I recall being in Scotland at Turnberry with players from all over the US. Os told me the dinner speaker was running late so the guy in charge turned to him with the microphone and said Os, why don't you get up and tell some jokes while we wait. Can you imagine?

Well, Os gets up and in minutes has everyone rolling in the aisles!

I had the pleasure of being Os's Partner Match teammate and he led us to the trophy a couple of times as well as a couple of Runner Ups. The man could putt! Hands of a surgeon.!

It is difficult to imagine just how many people's lives were made better because of Os. His frequent trips overseas touched hundreds, perhaps thousands of people. Os earned his way into heaven!

He will be missed. Thanks, Os!

Pam and I were so very sorry to hear about Oz's passing! He was a great friend and a superb physician who helped make Lake Forest Hospital a unique and special place. He cared for our youngest daughter who was burned in an accident and that created a special bond with the Seiler family. He was also a golfing friend and I cherish the times I had with him as a friend, a physician leader and a caring and thoughtful human with a great sense of humor.
He will be missed but his impact on so many of us will not be forgotten. God's speed Oz and thanks for being part of my life!
