Patty was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 14, 1946, to loving parents Alma and Al Korf, from whom she learned so much. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in education. Many of her classmates remain close friends to this day. She taught for a couple of years while her husband of 57 years, Peter, finished his architecture degree at the University of Illinois.
Patty and Peter welcomed their first son, Bruce, born in 1969, followed by their second son Andrew, born in 1972. She is survived by her son, Bruce (Karen), son Andrew (Malisa), and grandchildren Emily, Megan, Lincoln, and Lexi.
Patty was predeceased by her dear sister, Barbara Hase.
Patty was a volunteer extraordinaire. Among the many community boards she served or chaired were the Junior League of Milwaukee, the Association of Junior Leagues International, the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Penfield Children's Center, the Wisconsin Humane Society, Prevent Blindness Society, the Children’s Hospital Miracle Telethon, the Kelben Foundation, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Civic Alliance, and the Milwaukee Art Museum, where she co-chaired the 1976 Lakefront Festival of the Arts.
Patty’s life was filled with a love of family and friends. She enjoyed tennis, cooking, traveling, and socializing. Her smile always brightened a room and her sense of optimism was palpable.
She will be missed by countless relatives and friends. There will be a gathering in her honor on July 13th, 2025 from 12PM to 3PM at the Town Club in Fox Point, WI to reflect on her wonderful life. Casual attire, please.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wisconsin Humane Society in her memory.
