

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Paul attended Sacred Heart Seminary before earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Detroit. He built a distinguished career in the securities industry with Watling Lerchen and Company, where he managed the firm's Birmingham, Michigan office. He continued in that role following the firm's acquisition by A.G. Edwards.
Paul was a devoted member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Since relocating to Hobe Sound in 1994, he enjoyed his retirement years pursuing his love of golf and bridge.
Paul’s wife of 56 years, Virginia Patricia Pickner, preceded him in death in 2006. Paul is survived by his ten children: Paul Jr., Mark, Patricia Clark, Martha, Barbara Fleischmann, Matthew, Richard, Catherine Lauerman, Robert, and David; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Christopher Catholic Church on April 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
