He was a resident of Stuart since 1988 coming from West Babylon, Long Island.
Before retiring, Peter was a Meter Reader for Consolidated Edison in New York for 40 years.
He was a member of St. Andrews Church where he was an usher. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, #6241. He was also a volunteer fireman for over 23 years.
Peter is survived by Mary, his wife of 64 years; daughter, Ellen McChesney of Hobe Sound, FL; son Peter and his wife Collette of Smithburg, MD; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Rooney are private.
