Reginald Joseph Burge was one of thirteen children born to Melvin and Mary Burge in Loch Broom, Nova Scotia. Reginald served in the Canadian Armed Forces where he received training as a medical corpsman. It is in a later position in this medical capacity that he met his wife, Lois, who worked as a nurse at the hospital in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Reginald came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at this time and was received into fellowship at the Saint John Gospel Hall in the early months of 1962. He and Lois were married on 29 December 1962 at the Moncton Gospel Hall on Mountain Road, Later, the pair moved to Moncton, New Brunswick, where Reginald worked as the Safety Officer in charge of fire training, accident prevention, and accident mitigation for the Canadian National Railroad. Reginald retired from CN in 1988.
Reginald was a man of many talents: builder, property owner, landlord, salesman, fireman, developer, and utility owner. He worked tirelessly to provide a good life for his wife and family. After retirement, the family moved to Florida where Reginald began a new phase of their life. Eventually all four children followed he and Lois to Florida.
Reginald always sought the Lord in his life and worked to spread the gospel as opportunities arose. As an elder in Grace and Truth Bible Fellowship, he tried to guide and encourage others in the Word. His leadership and faith were an inspiration to both family and friends.
A loving father and husband, Reginald is survived by his wife, Lois, and their four children: Heather, Kim, Kevin, and Keith. He has eleven grandchildren.
