Mr. Gallivants was an exemplary superintendent of school in North Kingstown. He was a hard worker and loved his family. He always had a smile to share and a story to tell. One thing I knew of him in high school was that he had an open door policy of which I took advantage of many times. We always had lovely times swimming in the backyard pool and breaking bread. His daughter Sue was a dear friend of mine and we often car pooled after field hockey, basketball and softball games. I always did what it took to be a well rounded Dad made evident through all his lovely children. My life has been blessed because of him.

Dad you were one in a million. Mike and I always said when we grow up, we wanted to be just like you and Pat. You were so incredibly kind, inclusive of all, loving and gracious . You were an amazing Grandfather to our 3 boys. I could go on and on. You will be missed; your Legacy lives on in your Children and Grandchildren.

In memory of Richard Gerard, my brother and the greatest hero in my life. He was always there for me, always gentle and encouraging. He truly enriched my life in many ways, including sports.

We are also thinking of Patty Gallivan, an inspiration for all of us. She has been a wonderful and loving wife and friend to Dick for many years. She provided loving support to Dick through his difficult days. We love you dearly, Patty.

He is in the care of our Lord now. Bless his family in their time of sadness, but rejoice knowing that you will all be together again.
