Richard Kneer, age 80, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, He was born on April 29, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio to Carl and Anna Mae Kneer. He served in the US Air Force when he met the love of his life, Becky Hoegsted Kneer and they got married at the young ages of 21 and 18. They had 5 children, 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He worked as a salesman, referee and as an umpire to provide for his family.
When we were kids, dad like to take us fishing and on camping trips all over of the US - although we spent most of our time camping in the Great Smoky Mtns.in North Carolina and Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. After us kids were grown and out of the house dad and mom would travel a lot. They went on many cruises and traveled the US in a big Winnebago camper. I think he said they had been to all 50 states in the US. Dad loved to watch most sports on tv, and I would have to say the Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune, were a few of his favorite shows. He loved his family very much and was proud of us all.
Richard was survived by his wife, Becky Hoegsted Kneer: his five children: April Kneer Lyon (Timothy Richard Lyon), Stefanie Kneer; Douglas Kneer (Erin Kneer); Heather Kneer Jolley (Darrel Jolley); Tammy Kneer Minyard (Scott Minyard); his 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; his older sister Carol Caleffe; his younger sister Nancy Vinson and too many cousins to name. He has joined his mother, father, in-laws and one of his grandsons and many other family members in heaven and is now at peace.
Funeral arrangements have not been made for Richard Kneer as of this posting. We are waiting to honor him at the VA cemetery when the time is right. We will update you when this has been determined.
